When praticing or playing a saxophone, my main goal is to get an instrument which allows me to produce effortlessly a lush and versatile sound. The set up is, of course, very important to achieve it : mouthpiece, reeds, ligature… it’s an endless quest. But the most important thing is the instrument with good conception and making.
I look for a long time to find the perfect soprano saxophone to me. My Borgani straight vintage soprano is a tremendous instrument. It collects all the qualities of an outstanding soprano : great sound, very opened, versatile and yet homogeneous, excellent pitch, great keywork. The altissimo register is very easy to control. The dynamics are great from bottom to the top with equal ease. With the detachable bell and if I put the Super Power Bell, my horn is more powerfuf but always very focused.
